Much of the work
done by Mr. Welch over the last 19 years has been in partnership with
electric utilities. He has worked with their DSM programs to fulfill
objectives in energy efficiency, demand reduction, and strategic load
growth. He has also done extensive work in the area of economic
development by assisting manufacturers with process de-bottlenecking,
quality issues, and environmental mitigation. This is done by
optimizing existing processes and introducing and evaluating
innovative technologies. These services help key
industrial
customers stay as competitive as possible.
Through lengthy partnerships with utility clients, Mr. Welch is sensitive to the utility viewpoint and issues. For example, he knows how to field questions on rates and power quality and when it is better to bring in the utility representative to get the solution that is right for everyone. He is familiar with prescriptive and custom rebate programs and can be a valuable asset to your customers while helping you meet your DSM program objectives. His PE license and CEM certification add to his credibility as resource for your key accounts. Having led the Industrial Electrotechnology Laboratory (IEL) at Advanced Energy for many years, Mr. Welch can be of great assistance in bench testing, field testing, or background research on new and innovative technologies you may be considering. He can provide a credible and independent third party evaluation of vendor claims that will allow you to make better decisions about which technologies or services to pursue. Mr. Welch is a frequent trainer for utility personnel as well as utility customers. He regularly conducts seminars in energy efficiency, Certified Energy Manager exam preparation, process heating, industrial productivity improvement and other subjects. Many of these trainings are repeat engagements indicating the value received. Some recent testimonials from utility clients: "I have used Dan for research, testing, onsite energy assessments and training and he always delivers quality." Roger Paules, Energy Efficiency Project Manager, Duke Energy (formerly managed Duke Energy’s Industrial Process Heating Group) "I have worked with Dan on many projects and he is one of the best energy professionals I know. He pays attention to detail and his results are presented in a professional manner. As a consulting energy engineer, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table."
