Performance Contracting Services

Performance Contracting or "Shared Savings" contracts allow companies to purchase modern energy saving equipment with a positive cash flow. Funds for the project costs are paid for with energy savings. Mr. Welch has 18 years of experience in working with Performance Contract projects. Through first hand experience, he is aware of the many benefits and pitfalls that may be encountered in these projects.

If you plan to enter into a performance contract - or if you are already involved in one - you need to ensure your interests are protected. Welch Energy Services (WES) can review proposed projects and the savings verification plans. If needed, we can work with you to negotiate changes to the contract or the monitoring and verification (M&V) plan. The M&V plans are critical to ensure that the project actually saves as much as projected. Without appropriate M&V, you may be paying large sums of money for savings that never occur.

WES provides third party monitoring of projects to verify that savings are occurring as planned. WES has experience as a mediator to assist in settling any issues that may arise between the parties. This involves a technical understanding of the project as well as an understanding of the legal and financial issues of these contracts.

If you are an ESCO seeking additional assistance, WES can supplement your team's resources in providing Preliminary Audits or Investment Grade Audits. WES also has experience in assisting ESCOs improve the clarity and consistency of their proposals to improve their chances in the selection process.

Performance Contracts are large investments. You can save - or lose - a great deal of money for many years to come. Protect your investment by involving a seasoned professional
